Dr. Hermann Neuschäffer, who later had a lasting influence on the firm, was admitted to the bar in Darmstadt and joined his father’s office.

Our history
The origins of our firm date back to 1925: Dr. Hermann Neuschäffer, who later left a lasting mark on the firm, was admitted to the bar in Darmstadt and joined his father’s office. He focused the firm on commercial, corporate and tax law and became one of the first German specialist lawyers for tax law as early as 1931. In 1957, the law firm of Dr. Neuschäffer merged with the law firm of Dr. von Brentano, Löhlein, Dr. Dobring, which was also predominantly oriented towards commercial law. Dr. Heinrich von Brentano, Foreign Minister in the Adenauer cabinet from 1955 to 1961, had founded this office in 1932.
Since the beginning of the seventies, the firm has continuously expanded by admitting young colleagues. This will continue to happen in the future. A mixed age structure and additional specializations are intended to maintain and further develop the firm’s established traditions. These traditions include involvement in professional organizations, especially in the Frankfurt/Main Bar Association, of which Dr. Neuschäffer was president for a long time. Since 1949, a member of our firm has always been a member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. The partners of the firm are also active in a variety of associations, organizations and societies.
At the beginning of 2014, our former legal form of a BGB partnership was transformed into a Partnerschaftsgesellschaft mbB.
At the beginning of the year 2023 the merger with the law firm Dr. Jacoby took place.
Our clients
Our clients include not only globally active companies, banks and insurance companies, but also well-known medium-sized companies from the areas of trade, services and crafts, freelancers, foundations, associations, municipalities and other public corporations. Private clients also make frequent use of our services. Countless client relationships have existed for decades. We see this as both a tribute to the past and a challenge for the future.
